University for Continuing Education Krems (Universität für Weiterbildung Krems, UWK) is the coordinating institution of MARIHE programme.
University for Continuing Education Krems is Europe's only public university dedicated to continuing education and one of the largest providers for university lifelong learning. It has a strong expertise in the fast development of practice oriented and interdisciplinary curricula. Currently the university serves more than 9 000 students and has 20 000 graduates from 93 countries. University for Continuing Education Krems is located 80 km west of Austria’s capital Vienna, and in one of Europe’s most beautiful cultural landscapes, the Wachau region along the Danube, which has been named a world cultural heritage site by the UNESCO.

At University for Continuing Education Krems, MARIHE programme is managed in the Faculty of Education, Arts and Architecture by the Department for Higher Education Research. The department specializes in the topics educational management, education and regional development and Lifelong Learning in the context of higher education. The department runs the only Austrian master programme “Higher Education and Research Management” and is involved in various national and international projects in educational management and higher education development.
